Dale has worked with Health Organizations and Systems across Canada in designing and supporting full system transformation, Quality Management programs, strategic planning, leadership training, organization-wide change management, and performance improvement programs at the local, provincial, and federal levels.
While working within the Saskatchewan Health system and creating the provincial Lean program, Dale and his team were awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Award of the Saskatchewan Regional group by the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC), for the creation of Lean in Saskatchewan healthcare. Prior to joining The Poirier Group, Dale was a Partner for 8 years at KPMG leading the regional Quality Improvement practice. Before KPMG Dale founded and lead for 12 years, Learning to See Consulting, a boutique consultancy firm focused exclusively on Lean Six Sigma process improvement in healthcare and other government-based services.
He has helped three Canadian provinces implement full-scale health system transformation. He has also worked in over 200 LTC homes, countless physician offices, home care, mental health services, and public health systems across Canada. He has trained over 5,000 people from every level of the organizations he supported in Lean Six Sigma skills to improve health systems and other industries.
Dale is a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) with a focus on organizational change and design, PROSCI Certified in Change Management, and holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (Ohio State).
When he is not improving health systems Dale loves to stay active. He and his wife Fawn, enjoy canoe tripping in the back country, cycling, and are quite the food enthusiasts. He also spends a lot of time with his sons Josh and Zach either working on the Delorean or building the off grid tiny house.
